How to use an ordinary tea light?

Tealight tealights are small candles placed in a container (usually made of metal or plastic, less often glass), which melt over their entire diameter when burned. The English name tealight comes from the original use of this type of candles - they were used to heat a pot of tea. Currently, their use is much wider, so the Polish name warmers is very appropriate, they are also used to heat all types of food, e.g. in fondue.

The history of tealights

The history of tealight candles takes us all the way back to Japan, where they were part of the tea-making ritual. Today's tealights come in a multitude of sizes and colors. The two most common sizes of tealights in Poland are those with a diameter of 39 mm and 59 mm. Tealights are also divided into those in the color of natural wax (shades of white and cream) and those colored, sometimes covering the entire volume of the candle, and sometimes only the top layer. Tealights are made of paraffin (the most common) and - what is new - natural plant waxes, e.g. soy tealights. We also offer scented tealights and unscented tealights.

Types of tealights

Warmers may also differ in burning time - classic good quality tealights should burn for about 4 hours, there are also natural tealights made of plant waxes, which burn for 5 hours, and tealights called nightlights, which burn for about 8 hours (they are made in taller containers). , thanks to which it is possible to extend the burning time). Heaters with a larger diameter, the so-called maxi (daylight) tealights burn for 8 to 12 hours depending on the amount of wax.

Tealights can also be divided into poured tealights (when hot wax is poured into a mold and hardens there) and molded tealights (when compressed, cooled wax is placed into the mold).

Depending on the type of container in which the tealight is made, we distinguish tealights in metal casings (the most common), and less often in those made of plastic or (least common) glass. Transparent tealight containers have the advantage that they disperse the light brilliantly, giving a truly soothing visual experience.

Small candles in your home

Warmers, both scented and unscented, are usually lit several at a time due to their small size, creating a friendly hygge atmosphere. Using tealights in charming candlesticks is a great way to change your interior.
