How to use an essential oil fireplace?

Aromatherapy is a natural way to relax after a hard and stressful day. Through scent therapy we can influence our mood. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries, and its power has also been confirmed more than once by modern science. Essential oils used in aromatherapy not only give your interior a beautiful fragrance, but can also soothe the senses or relieve muscle tension. Some essential oils are also natural agents that block the growth of bacteria, viruses and fungi, and even mites. An excellent example is tea tree oil, which is also successfully used extensively in cosmetics.

How to use an essential oil fireplace?

Using a fragrance fireplace for essential oils is simple and easy. Just follow our step-by-step instructions and see for yourself:

  1. Pour water into a bowl at the top of the fireplace, then add a few drops of essential oil. It is always better to start with a smaller number of drops, for example, 3 - 5. If you feel that the aroma could be more intense, you can always increase the amount of oil in the bowl.
  2. Underneath the bowl, you set a tealight candle (a classic unscented tealight - natural ones made of 100% soy wax will work perfectly) in the marked place. Before each candle lighting, trim the wick in the candle to about 5 mm in length (use a special wick trimmer for this).
  3. Light a candle and wait a while until the water in the bowl begins to evaporate releasing the fragrance of the oil. Pay attention to the amount of water in the bowl - extinguish the candle before the water completely evaporates from the fireplace. Never leave a fireplace with a burning candle unattended!

How to use fragrance oils in fireplaces? Our tips

  • Scented fireplace always place out of reach of pets and small children and away from flammable objects.
  • Do not leave the fireplace with a lit candle unattended.
  • The fireplace and the water in it under the influence of a lit candle heats up to a high temperature, so you need to be careful not to burn yourself.
  • There should be water in the bowl at all times during use. If the water completely evaporates, it will cause excessive heating of the bowl in the fireplace. This may result in its cracking or burning.
  • To extinguish a candle in a scented fireplace, we use a special candle saver.
  • To keep the fireplace clean, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Fragrance oils, including essential oils and essential oils have a high concentration of fragrance. We always recommend starting with a smaller amount of oil, and only after about 20-30 minutes after the water has heated up, if you find the smell faint, add 1-2 drops.
  • Remember that fireplace oils from different manufacturers can be more or less concentrated. Therefore, sometimes you may find that the amount of drops used so far is insufficient or, on the contrary, the concentration of fragrance is too high.

Fragrance fireplace how to use oils

Fragrance oil fireplaces - types

Scented fireplaces available on the market are divided into traditional, heated ones thanks to tealight candle and electric fragrance fireplaces designed for scented waxes and scented papers. We can use the traditional fragrance oil warmer for both essential, natural or scented oils, but also - in the vast majority of cases - for fragrance waxes. Therefore, for the beginning of the adventure with fragrances, a traditional fireplace for a candle type warmer will work great. For example, some people prefer fireplaces with a removable top pan, while others prefer when the bowl is permanently attached to the fireplace.

Additional tips for using fireplace oils and heaters

If you are wondering, fireplace oil how to use, then it's worth remembering a few basic rules. When choosing an oil, make sure it is an essential oil or a high-quality fragrance oil designed for aromatherapy. Low-quality oils without certificates, purchased from an uncertain source, may not only fail to provide the expected effect, but also cause the deposition of unpleasant substances in the fireplace.

To properly use a fragrance fireplace:

  • Pour water into the bowl of the fireplace and add a few drops of oil. The optimal amount is 3-5 drops - more may be too intense.
  • Remember to control the water level, to prevent the bowl from overheating.
  • Regularly clean the fireplace - oil residues can burn and reduce the quality of the aroma, as well as look unsightly.
Heater oils how to use?

Heating oils - how to use?

Many people are asking the question: heater oils how to use, to get the best fragrance effect? It is crucial to choose the right heater. In the case of a classic tealight fireplace, we use unscented candles so as not to mix aromas. If you use an electric heater, do not use essential oils or fragrance oils for it, they are only suitable for scented waxes. This is because the electric fragrance fireplace usually does not have a waterproof certification, and when using oils, it is necessary to use water to dilute the. If you want to use an electric device, choose one of our aromatherapy lamps (called ultrasonic diffusers).

Proper use of oils in heaters:

  1. Fill the bowl with water and add the oil as recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Turn on the device or light the tealight and wait for the aroma to start releasing.
  3. Do not overheat the oil - if the bowl is too hot, it is better to add more water.
  4. After use, clean the bowl with warm water and mild detergent. Remember to always follow the cleaning recommendations given by the manufacturer.

With these simple rules, you can enjoy the beautiful fragrance and benefits of aromatherapy, while taking care of the safety and durability of your fireplace or heater.
