How to burn soy candles? Basic rules for burning soy candles

You often ask whether soy candles burn differently than paraffin candles? The answer is: absolutely yes! Have you ever bought a paraffin candle and, despite burning it for several hours, an unsightly tunnel was created? Did you buy special candle covers then? In soy candles this is unnecessary! Natural soy candles have become a permanent fixture in the repertoire of scented candles. The rapid career of soy wax as a raw material for candle production is dictated by its unique properties: lower dissolution temperature than paraffin, purity and quality of firing - without smoke, smoke and soot, and the fact that it is a plant-based wax, renewable and obtained from sustainable resources.
Due to their different properties than paraffin, soy candles burn easier. Yes, you read that right! It is much easier to get the maximum benefits from burning a soy candle than a paraffin candle. Why?
Soy candles will light faster, but they will burn longer
As we mentioned, soy candles require a lower temperature to melt. As a result, we can burn them for a shorter time at a time until we obtain the so-called pool, i.e. wax dissolved over the entire diameter of the vessel. By shortening the recommended single burning time, such candles are comfortable to use and will last for many evenings.
We always trim the wicks of soy candles
The rule of trimming wicks applies to all candles, not just soy candles. By trimming the wicks, we make the candle burn evenly and cleanly. Not only can a flame that is too large cause the candle to burn unevenly, but it will also cause the candle to burn faster than it could by trimming the wicks. If you have been burning a soy candle for several hours and the wick begins to curl into a characteristic "mushroom", it is time to extinguish the candle and trim the wick. Always use professional wick trimmers for this purpose.
What color should a soy candle be?
Natural 100% soy wax, by its nature, does not cooperate with dyes. That's why most soy candles are the natural color of soy. Soybeans may change shade depending on the added oils, ranging from a delicate off-white color to light beige or yellow. This is a natural phenomenon. If a soy candle is a dyed candle, it usually has another wax mixed in to help stabilize the dye in the candle.
How to extinguish a soy candle?
Soy candles, like all other candles, should always be extinguished using a candle extinguisher - the general rule is to cut off the air supply to the candle. No candle should be blown out. For safety reasons, reputable manufacturers recommend leaving about 1 cm of undissolved wax at the bottom of the candle.
How to store soy candles?
The basic rule when storing soy candles and others is to place them in a dry, cool place and without access to direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause, among other things, discoloration of the wax.
