All Candleberry candle wicks are made of cotton and have a lead-free zinc core. The zinc core structure provides maximum strength to keep the wick straight in the molten wax. This minimizes the phenomenon known from many other candles that the carbon formation causes a large rose on the wick and thus promotes the sooting of the candle.
